The NAWC - New Age Wrestling Council
The New Age Wrestling Council (NAWC) stands as the premier flagship federation in the universe of fantasy wrestling cards. Originally a major wrestling powerhouse headquartered on Earth within the Milky Way Galaxy, the NAWC fell into financial trouble and was bought out by a group of investors from the planet Alaara. Today, the federation is governed by a powerful 5-man Council led by the enigmatic Sam Moon-a former wrestler who now serves as commissioner and announcer-alongside the strategic Bob MacAdue.
When Moon took control during the acquisition, he retained approximately one-third of the original NAWC roster and supplemented it with major independent wrestling talent from across the galaxy. This bold strategy created an explosive mix of veteran superstars and fresh blood. Original NAWC legends such as Keth Vale, Azrael, Bloodstorm, Madness & Mayhem, and Danny Sage remained with the organization, blending with homegrown Alaaran talent like Ciber Naught, Chouuju, Assassin X, Tera Naught, The Butcher, and Raechel Killian, as well as outside rookie sensations including Belroc, Sekada, and Manta.
However, the federation has weathered a tumultuous period of upheaval in recent years, losing three-quarters of its roster in a controversial purge that even saw several reigning champions released from their contracts-including the federation's main drawing superstar, Azrael, who lost a career-ending Loser Leaves Town Match. This seismic shift sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling world. Some beloved warriors have fought their way back into the fold, reclaiming their spots on the roster. Others have taken their talents to competing federations, seeking fortune and glory elsewhere. But perhaps most dangerously, a faction of scorned wrestlers are plotting their revenge, determined to make the organization that abandoned them pay for their betrayal.
What many don't know is that the Alaaran Government has kept a closely guarded secret about the NAWC's true purpose. The federation serves as an elite training facility for the annual Contest of Champions Tournament-a high-stakes competition that determines the governing body of Alaara for the next two-year term. Originally kept quiet to prevent their national champions from being targeted before the Contest, the Alaaran Government now openly uses the NAWC and its state-of-the-art training facility-The Sanctuary-to send would-be champions to train with some of the finest fighters and athletes in the galaxy, gaining a crucial edge over their political rivals.
As the NAWC enters this new era of uncertainty and opportunity, one burning question remains: Who will rise to become the face of the federation and carry the NAWC into its next chapter of greatness?
The Inside Scoop
Series 10, 11 & 12: Overview
Hello everyone, Triple S here! Recently hired by the NAWC as its inside journalist. For those that don't know me, I'm "The Scoop" Shane Slayn, former wrestler of the OCW and now enjoying married life as a commentator and journalist. Let's dive into the Inside Scoop and see what's happening with the NAWC.
A New Leadership & New Home
With all that has happened around the galaxy-between the portals between dimensions being closed, the Black Death scare, and economic troubles-many people missed the civil war that rocked Alaara. The brutal death of Halfmoon II in the ring led to the arrest of Zargon, who was sentenced to the maximum-security wing of Alaara's cryo-prison. He escaped before sentencing and left the planet with help from an unknown source.
Sam Moon, devastated at the loss of his son, retired to his home on Alaara, leaving his team in shambles with only Chief Jay Icevein, who returned to singles action. The Alien Alliance was broken.
Keth Vale, wrestler and promoter, picked up the remains of the NAWC ownership and moved it off planet as its new owner to the newly built Orbital Space Station Echo (O.S.S.E.), owned by the UFSP and not Alaara. Vale moved quickly and hired Magnus to be the Commissioner, with the GWF Cygnus legend stepping down from managing the Cygnus Rising team.
Cygnus Rising vs. Alien Corps
The team imploded without Magnus's influence as Belroc & Sekada continued to team as Cygnus Rising while Manta and Brinson Faust along with Syllyla formed their own team they named Alien Corps in honor of Manta's teacher. The rivalry between Alien Corps versus Cygnus Rising has intensified-the fire of war burns anew.
Manta still believes Sekada murdered his master and is using Cygnus society standards to hide behind. Brinson Faust, having allowed his success at Contest of Champions to blind him to his friend's desire, renewed his promise to take down Cygnus Rising and cannot believe he allowed the former GWF legend Magnus to be allied with a murderer.
Maelstrom went solo and acts as Mangus's enforcer when not trying to win gold. He has targeted newcomer to the NAWC, Barfly Mike, feeling the human needs to learn his place.
Council of Wyrms vs. Survival of the Fittest
The Council of Wyrms survived with its members unscathed during the civil war, but Kagirinai has promised a new dragon in the coming year to bolster his team as they try and end the menace of Zargon. He's moving Moeru Tohkon & Haikuru into a new team called Dragon Forge to face the task of taking on the Bringers of Chaos. Ma-Lin remains the female star, while Blood Dragon & Ryuujin are the singles stars this year.
Ryuujin takes on Mandesicant, leaving Ketsueki Ryuuko (Blood Dragon) to deal with the 7'4" Zargon, who has already killed one wrestler in the ring and showed no remorse. Zargon wants to destroy the Wyrms and those who he feels stole his right to rule Alaara. The C.O.W. vows to defeat Zargon and deliver him to Alaara where his cryo-prison awaits.
Zargon is also keeping an eye on X-Symbiote as he still has plans for the creature. With Zargon's access to some sick scientists, whatever he has planned can't be good for Alaara or the rest of the galaxy.
The Tragedy of Assassin X
Another tragedy struck when longtime NAWC star Assassin X, wrestling part-time in the GWFZ, was infected and taken over by a parasite. Now known as X-Symbiote, he works between the NAWC and the GWFZ. The G.S.F. took the loss badly, leaving Ciber Naught, Hangman, Terra Naught, and Peacekeeper Rachel Killian out for revenge on the thing that took their friend.
Somehow Assassin X managed to send word, and a new team was sent after his body to lay it to rest. The Death Society arrived at the first OSSE show to take down X-Symbiote. The three men and a woman were later revealed as Death Blade, Death Bringer, Lady X, and Assassin X II-the last two being the children of the original Assassin X. Their purpose: destroy the thing in their father's body and cremate the remains so his spirit may know peace.
The GSF and Death Society both want the job, creating an unusual three-way race as X-Symbiote tries to stay alive while the two groups clash over who gets to kill it first. With Zargon in the wings, this could get really ugly really fast. Death Society are also keeping an eye on Zargon for his interest in X-Symbiote but until the former warlord makes his move, they are content to leave him alone. for now.
Bad Blood Forms
Sammael & Salem have split from the Vampire Nation and, to the surprise of many, allied with Danny Sage and BellaDonna. Sage, who had been feuding with K&K Connection since Pandora dumped him without warning, was on the receiving end of a two-on-one assault. Pandora was holding BellaDonna down and forcing her to watch the beating when the lights flickered and Sammael appeared in the ring. Salem attacked Pandora from out of nowhere, chasing her off Bella.
To the shock of the sold-out crowd, Sammael smirked and extended his hand to his longtime rival, pulling him to his feet. The following week, Sage was facing New Kindred for the team titles. His partner was a no-show, and it looked like New Kindred would retain in a handicap match when Sammael again appeared. Stephen & Mallick were shocked, and Sage & Sammael won the tag belts!
This new union sends shockwaves throughout the NAWC as Bad Blood looks to dominate. K&K Connection are in deep trouble as they have spent the past year attacking Sage, who had various part-time partners or was alone. Now the sides are even, and K&K Connection finds itself against Bad Blood. Meanwhile, Pandora finds herself between Salem and BellaDonna. Salem and BellaDonna still hate one another, so look towards some wicked triple threats as Krys Knight & Pandora take on Sage & Bella or Salem & Sammael.
The Tag Team Wars Heat Up
Keth Vale shocked NAWC fans when he announced he had signed the Ragnarockers to the NAWC and brought back American Pride, who spent the last year with nothing to do and returned to wrestling on Earth and other indy feds. King Mook came out and asked Vale what he was doing, and Vale told him "what was best for business."
The NAWC needed to move away from the isolation of Alaara and take its place on the universal stage. He wanted the Ragnarockers, American Pride, and M&M to bring glory back to the tag team ranks.
With the three teams come three females as well. CC Devine, longtime manager and wrestler of the Ragnarockers, is looking to test the waters of the NAWC women's division. In her way, however, is Romy Rahvin, and joining up with American Pride is Valerie Nomad. Three skilled women with three skilled teams should blow the roof off the OSSE arena.
Tiger Corps vs. Lycan Alliance
Drake managed to avoid prison time for his actions against the Pride Lands, but it's not all good for the original Black Tiger, as he has nowhere to go. Determined to make the best of it, he forms the tag team Black Tigers with his son Drake II, part of the Tiger Corps, leaving Jac K'yl to work singles matches.
The Tiger Corps finds itself in a violent feud with Lycan Alliance-Rak'Ashan, Ka'Sii, and Clavius Lycan. Stranded in this dimension after the closing of the portals, the Lycans are using their time to get revenge on the man who used their people. Ka'Shii and Rak'Ashan form the tag team Lycan Pride to challenge the Black Tigers. Meanwhile, Clavius Lycan aims to stop Jac K'yl as the student of the original Black Tiger from gaining success.
The Lycans plan on punishing all three members of Tiger Corps for the crimes of Drake in the ring, since he escaped that of the law of the land-but the law of the jungle might just see the end of the first NAWC champion and his protégés.
The Zoo & New Alliances
Prince Kieryu has become King and stepped away from the ring to lead his people of the Pride Lands, leaving Chouuju and Viper Vixson without leadership. Vixson had been thinking of returning to training at the Sanctuary full-time, but that was until Orin Ostryker appeared. The bastard son of Terak, who originally freed Chouuju, finally has arrived in the NAWC and has formed The Zoo with Chouuju and Vixson. They aim to break Calm and Serenity and run them out of the NAWC. Orin seems to have caught the interest of the Ani-woman, and Orin is happy with that.
Sadly, the Aethran pair have friends-or at least allies. The Aethran called Despair appeared suddenly and claimed Calm was his half-brother, and the pair would form a team. Calm and Despair may be estranged brothers, but Despair has decided he can ignore his brother's choices for a chance at wrestling. The fact Despair has smeared his war paint and is wearing shackles is a concern for some, but Calm welcomed his half-brother without comment. Calm and Serenity still team up for mixed tag team matches against Orin and Viper-an interesting clash of styles.
New Arrivals & Fresh Rivalries
Remember when NAWC signed Tyler Silvermane? He's been rather quiet and stayed out of the Alaara civil war. Now that it's over and things are back in the business of wrestling, Silvermane is looking to focus on the ring. Keth Vale decided he needed to draw the Zen-like warrior into his best and signed Kale Riggins. The loud and egotistic Elran has bounced around the 'verse in the AWF and OCW, and now Vale hopes the magic of Silvermane vs. Riggins will push the NAWC into the mainstream where it's needed.
While many things change, some stay the same. The Butcher & Skurge continue to compete as the Berserkers, sick of politics and wanting tag team gold. They're looking across the ring at Rancor (Killswitch & Sidon). NAWC fans don't care that they have no real issues-the fact these four men want to compete is more than enough. For now, it's the Berserkers taking on Rancor in some brutal matches.
Added to the mix is the strange team of Stone Mountain & Slim Jenkins. The two men were sick of being sidelined and ignored and decided to show management what they could do. Will the NAWC regret ignoring the talent they hired?
The People's Champion Arrives
Keth Vale, needing a singles star to draw attention of fans and promoters and fill the hole left by Azrael like a festering wound, turned towards an old friend: Iron Dog, who owned and wrestled in the Doghouse-sponsored OCW. Iron Dog wasted no time and offered Vale his franchise player, Barfly Mike.
BFM was Next Generations champion and exploded on the indy scene with a mix of brawling and high flying, having breakout matches with indy stars SMD, Sammael (Barfly was the last man to face Sammael before he was embraced), Stephen DeArcher, Bloodline, Crow, and Jake Storm. Barfly was headlining OCW shows and other indy feds until the Doghouse closed.
Now Barfly's first test in the NAWC is Maelstrom, who isn't impressed by the "People's Champion" and sees just another humanoid to destroy. Barfly isn't intimidated by the former GWF star and is looking to let the good times roll once more.
Zoë Wild makes her in-ring debut in the NAWC as wrestler, manager, and valet. The voice of the OCW, Zoë was the play-by-play commentator since the age of 16. This pixie-like woman has been trained by Iron Dog and Keth Vale and is looking to follow her idol Kim and become a top women's wrestler. When not wrestling, Zoë is the manager for Barfly and the Slackers and valet for Iron Dog. Needless to say, the Doghouse looks to make waves in the NAWC, and Zoë is along for the ride.
Vampire Civil War Reignites
When Sammael & Salem left the Vampire Nation, the team fractured. On one side: Blood Rose, Tzimisce, and the Crimson Blood (Bloodstorm & Von Mahkrieg), who weren't happy when Salem & Sammael were embraced. On the other side: Carmilla and New Kindred.
To even the odds, Carmilla went to the coffin and dug up Strife-the insane vampire responsible for the original Vampire Civil War that rocked the OCW with rivers of blood and the death of dozens of wrestlers and fans. Now a new civil war is in the NAWC, and the Vampire King has ordered them to settle this dispute.
With one civil war victory under their belt already, Carmilla, Strife, and New Kindred look to put Rose and her group to heel and seal their fate with a nail in the coffin. No matter who wins, once it's done, a united Vampire Nation will spell trouble for the NAWC roster. Carmilla and Blood Rose have agreed to keep the violence to society standards, meaning there will not be innocents at risk. Expect there to be a lot of specialty matches where the vampires cross one another.
The Mad Monk's Crusade
Jason Kenmore, the Mad Monk, has not had an easy time. With the Inquisition disbanding, his brother revealed to be under the mask of Azriel the Deceiver, and now driven mad by visions, Kenmore has decided that everything is the fault of Michael and Rose Caldarian.
Kenmore, with the returning Unholy pair of Kravex Thrace & Damascus, attacked and injured Mathew Soltari, possibly ending the young man's career and sending the message that the Caldarian twins were next. Michael brought his friend Shawn Priest to the NAWC, and as Righteous Glory, they look to stop Kenmore and the two Unholy with their strange visions Kenmore is talking about.
Being outnumbered, the Righteous were saved by the arrival of the mysterious masked wrestler Apostle X. X has targeted Kenmore, leaving Shawn & Michael to deal with the Unholy. Rose told her twin that X could be trusted as he was "sent by Daddy."
The Mad Monk swears that the Righteous will last for one year as Kenmore has had a vision and rambles on: "The Destroyer is coming." The thing is, no one is listening to his rants.
The last to join Kenmore in his Crusaders is the huntress from Brymstone, Faith-a demon slayer who is mystically enhanced and can face the men on even ground. For now, Kenmore has aimed her at Rose Caldarian, whom he calls unnatural and a harlot. He also uses her to block Apostle X, but so far Faith seems to act strange around the masked man who seems to avoid confronting her physically as well.
Angelo Cortez has taken time to step away from the ring, disturbed by Kenmore's visions and disgusted at how the Caldarian twins interact. Cortez has gone off on a pilgrimage to find where his path leads. Kenmore thinks he's cracked and has chosen to ignore his former ally. Where will Cortez go? What will he discover? Kenmore seems to know and says: "All will be revealed in time."
More Doghouse Talent
The last move Vale made was to hire Iron Dog himself. Iron Dog brings with him the Doghouse Bar & Grill as well as "Underdog" Memphis Reigns & Ryan Rave, the Slackers. Will the influx of talent help the NAWC recover from the ravages of Alaara and the politics that rule it? The bar is open, and the NAWC is looking towards the future.
The Slackers join in the tag war, making it a four-way between the Ragnarockers vs. American Pride vs. M&M vs. Slackers. The level of action goes up another notch. With Zoë as their manager, she gets drawn into the mix as she gets to face off against Devine, Nomad & Rahvin. Fans are going to love it.
The Heartthrob's Plans
Jake Storm has been on a part-time contract with the NAWC, and he's not happy with being ignored. He's vowed to show the establishment what they are missing out on. What has the Heartthrob got going on in his head?
Karissa D'Anara has been seen following (stalking?) Jake-what does this mean? Karissa sometimes teams with Pandora against Salem & BellaDonna or with Jake against Kim & Symba or Barfly Mike & Zoë for some mixed tag team action. With the level of mixed couples in the NAWC on the rise, the future is looking intense.
Jake was seen speaking with Symba and Kethlyn Miriel backstage-what does the Heartthrob have in mind? The last time Jake talked to someone, he formed the New Blood Generation. Is Jake starting up the band again with new members?
Part-Time Stars & Shocking Returns
Keth Vale as owner of the NAWC has pulled back to part-time wrestler for the year. He still likes a good fight and will mix it up with Iron Dog or anyone else. Sometimes he tags with Iron Dog or Chief Jay Icevein; other times, they have knockdown fights either one-on-one or triple threats. Vale didn't expect what was coming his way, though.
In the wake of everything happening, everyone was shocked at the return of Primal Fear. Cutthroat and the Beast have challenged Keth Vale and Iron Dog and have also talked about entering the tag war to show the NAWC who the real top team is. The return of one of the NAWC's greatest teams has changed the landscape once more. It was revealed that someone hired them to stop Iron Dog from gaining success in the NAWC, and they still have issues with Vale-so they figure why not two for one.
Chief Jay Icevein is looking for singles action after the death of Halfmoon II. The Chief hasn't forgotten his fights with Ciber Naught and has also added Maelstrom to his list. Icevein also wants to challenge Keth Vale and NAWC newcomer Iron Dog to matches. The Chief has hinted that he is thinking of recruiting some of his tribe in the coming year and is scouting talent. Whatever Icevein does, it should be noted that GSF leader Ciber Naught still isn't concerned or impressed by the man he's beaten in the Alaaran Contest of Champions.
Fresh Start for Championships
All titles were stripped at the end of the year, and Commissioner Magnus announced that round-robin tournaments would be held on O.S.S.E. to crown new champions for the coming year. "As Keth Vale has said, this is a fresh start. Let's see what the talent can do with no one being favored by the owners or the Alaara Council."
Keth Vale had the Goldsboro title minted as a third belt-sort of a replacement for the Special Matches or a Holonet title as a way to tribute where the NAWC has come from. He's also adding the Alaara Cup for singles, tag, and women at the Contest of Champions pay-per-view that takes place every six months. Over several days, there will be round-robin tournaments that wrestlers need to qualify for based on their performances leading up to the events.
