About the COTG Color Cards

Tom Filsinger at Galacticon

Tom Filsinger auctions off the first Color LOW Road Warrior card Hawk at the Galacticon Convention in 2003.

Kevin Knipe has had the distinct honor of collaborating directly with Tom Filsinger of Filsinger Games on numerous groundbreaking projects spanning color card development, promotional brochures, and even the Champions of the Galaxy online user interface design. This unique partnership granted Krazy Kards the exclusive privilege of producing limited-edition full-color COTG wrestling cards each year—well before the official game line transitioned to mainstream full-color production.

For decades, Champions of the Galaxy cards existed only in stark black and white, featuring minimal information and no back images. What many collectors don't realize is that Krazy Kards' innovative experimental designs and "bootleg" color versions directly influenced the evolution of the official product line. Our groundbreaking work helped demonstrate the market demand and visual potential of full-color game cards.

Tom Filsinger

The watershed moment came with Chuck Carter's stunning full-color rendition of the legendary wrestler Wolf—the first official full-color COTG card ever produced. Riding this tremendous success, we continued with the iconic Road Warriors in both striking Black and Red armor variants. Kevin's artistic interpretation of Thantos captured the character in his twilight years, adding emotional depth rarely seen in game cards. However, our proudest achievement remains the hauntingly beautiful Bishop Hell, a card that perfectly exemplifies the artistic and collectible potential of the COTG universe.

Why These Cards Are Collectible

Wolf Card Champions of the Galaxy special edition cards may also become valuable collector's items! Since these are also virtually handmade professional quality wrestling game cards that have been numbered, produced in extremely low print runs and were primarily sold at conventions like Galacticon. These cards have not been mass produced somewhere in China found at Walmart. The Champions of the Galaxy color cards are only going up in value especially since the game has expanded to further different types of mediums.

How to Submit Your Cards

This is how it works: you can email any card sets that you have collected along with the serial number and copyright date. If you don't want to add your name to the list we can post it as private! It should be pretty interesting to see how many cards / sets have survived over the last seven years. Sadly some card sets have burned in house fires, been lost in apartment moves, water or food spills, and even pet damage. Hopefully this is only a few rare cases. You can also register any of the (COTG) Champions of the Galaxy Collectors edition color cards that were produced by Krazy Kards.
